Suspension of Subsidies for Electric Vehicles in 2025

The Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia has announced the suspension of subsidies for the purchase of new vehicles powered exclusively by electricity for 2025, as the allocated funds were exhausted before the end of the calendar year.

The submission of new applications was closed on August 8, 2025, although the program, pursuant to the Government Decree of January 23, 2025, was initially intended to run until October 31 or until the funds were fully spent. For this year, RSD 170 million had been allocated for subsidies.

The subsidy program included incentives ranging from EUR 250 for electric mopeds and tricycles to EUR 5,000 for passenger vehicles powered exclusively by electricity. Applications were open to individuals, entrepreneurs, and legal entities.

The Ministry announced that the subsidy program will resume once new budgetary funds are secured, and that all interested parties will be duly informed.

Such decisions are significant for both individuals and companies planning investments in electric vehicles, not only in terms of financial planning but also with respect to meeting environmental and regulatory standards. Injac Attorneys will continue to monitor all legislative changes and support programs in the field of e-mobility and remain at the disposal of clients for advice on the legal and regulatory aspects of subsidized vehicle purchases.
