Nemanja Injac, Founder and Managing Partner of Injac Attorneys, has received a Certificate of Appreciation from the World Bank Group in recognition of his expert contribution to Business Ready 2026 (B-READY), the World Bank Group’s flagship assessment of the business and investment climate worldwide. He contributed as an expert for Serbia on the Financial Services topic, which covers the regulation and practice of commercial lending, including secured transactions, credit information and electronic payments.
B-READY replaces the World Bank’s earlier Doing Business project. It assesses economies across three pillars (regulatory framework, public services and operational efficiency) and ten topics that follow the life cycle of a firm, from business entry to insolvency. Its data are drawn from questionnaires completed by practitioners in each economy and from firm-level surveys. The 2026 edition concludes the project’s three-year rollout phase and expands its coverage to a near-global benchmark.
The expert questionnaires look beyond what the law provides on paper. They ask how procedures actually work in practice: how long they take, what they cost and where they encounter friction. The results will shape how Serbia’s business environment is benchmarked internationally, and they will serve as a reference point for investors and policymakers alike.
That distinction between the rule and its application is also the question international clients most often bring to us. Contributing a practitioner’s perspective to a global benchmark is a natural extension of the work we do advising foreign companies doing business in Serbia.
